that participated
in the 2005 Carlson
Software National
Senior Mine Design
Competition. Jenessa
Rahn of University
of Nevada –
Reno was awarded
1st Place, Joseph
Zirkle of West Virginia
University took
2nd Place, and Manual
Bello Freire of
the University of
Utah took 3rd Place.
The winning project
receives $2,000,
2nd Place project
receives $1,000,
and the 3rd Place
project receives
$500. Each student
receives a certificate
documenting the
achievement.

sponsors the annual
competition open
to the ABET accredited
mining engineering
schools. Each school
is invited to participate.

supports the mining
engineering academic
community by sponsoring
the senior design
competition and
providing educational
