8-9:45AM/SurvNET featuring MOVE3/Gerard Verkuijl -- This session will explain fundamental concepts associated with the adjustment of surveying measurements using least squares techniques, and the associated capabilities of Carlson SurvNet. Focus will be the solution of adjustment tasks commonly encountered by practicing surveyors using customer supplied examples.
MOVE3 is a least squares network adjustment package used by land surveyors for the purpose of assessing, maintaining and improving the quality of their measurements (www.move3.com)
10:15AM-Noon/Field-to-Finish/Mike Hyman -- This session will focus on collecting Topography Data using Total Stations, Robots and GPS Eqiupment. We will spend some time explaining how to use Feature Code lists for creating linework Live in the Data Collector. We will also cover using Robots and GPS to collect Points using our Auto by Interval routine.
1-2:45PM/LotNET/Brian Harris -- Come learn two different ways to design a subdivision inside of LotNET. In addition, we will learn how to layout lots with setbacks around ponds and make changes to the lots and ROW with ease. Also be able to identify sub-areas (such as pond, creek, park, etc) and design lots around these areas with ease. Finally, get lot reports and create coordinate files to take to field to stakeout.
3:15-5PM/Staking for Parking Lots, Buildings & Roads/Tom Peak -- We will show different methods for obtaining data from drawing entities for field stakeout to include Parking Lots, Buildings, Roads and basic DTM building for grade layout.
Tuesday, November 9
8-9:45AM/Raw Data Processing/Cliff Petersohn -- In this session, learn the fundamentals of Raw File Processing, various adjustment techniques, and how and when to apply them. Examples will range from simple user-entered traverse and sideshot observations (reducing field notes) to a large file that would typically be imported from an electronic data collector, both Total Station and GPS data sets. Adjustment techniques will include Compass Rule, Crandall Rule, and Least Squares Adjustments. We will also look at level adjustments in this session as well.
10:15AM-Noon/Deeds & Legal Description Writer /Tom Peak -- Deeds, Not Words: All Surveyors need to work with legal documents that they find at their local registry of deeds. This session will cover how to work with these documents through Carlson’s many deed processing components. We will apply different tactics for translating the deed into the drawing program. And, going the other direction, we will cover creating a legal description from the drawing.
1-2:45PM/Tips & Tricks with Points /Aaron Newman -- In this session we will be discussing the concepts behind the Carlson COGO point system common to all of the Carlson modules. Demonstrations will include the numerous options and editing capabilities available for point display as well as the various methods
3:15-5PM/Annotation Features/Brian Harris -- In this session we will be discussing the annotation capabilities offered by the Carlson survey modules. We will show the capabilities of annotating linework and areas in both a linked and an unlinked mode. We will also demonstrate the capabilities of manipulating the appearance of existing annotation elements.
